He was once the fun-loving young Royal famously caught with his trousers down playing billiards in a Las Vegas hotel suite with his mates – but Prince Harry has since swapped partying for posturing on a range of ‘woke’ issues with his wife Meghan Markle. Scroll through this picture timeline to see how much the Royal has changed over the years…

Thick as thieves: Prince Harry and his brother Prince William laugh at the launch of the Henry van Straubenzee Memorial Fund at Troubadour Club in London in 2009. The pair were once very close but since Harry has been married to Meghan their relationship has become more strained.

Ladies’ man: At the same event, the handsome Royals were spotted entertaining two blonde female guests, who seem to be enjoying the Princes’ attention. Prince Harry had two long-term girlfriends before marrying Meghan Markle. He dated Chelsea Davy from 2004 to 2011 and then Cressida Bonas, now an actress, between 2012 and 2014. The relationship reportedly ended with Bonas as she didn’t like the public scrutiny of dating a Royal.

Splash Harry: The Prince is pictured here partying in Las Vegas in 2012 – on the same holiday, leaked pictures saw him playing strip billiards. That wasn’t Harry’s finest hour, but he bounced back from the scandal relatively unscathed.

Following in his mother’s footsteps: Harry is pictured with six-year-old Mutsu at a children’s home in Lesotho, South Africa, in April 2006. The Prince was in the country to launch his new charity called ‘Sentebale’, which means ‘Forget me not’ in memory of his mother Diana Princess of Wales.

Funny face: Known for being a bit of a joker, Prince Harry makes a face on the trading floor of BGC Partners, in London September 2011 with a Tommy Cooper impression after securing a deal between Barclays London and a European counter-party. The company holds a Charity Day each year to commemorate the 658 employees who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York.

Powerful message: Harry wrote messages of hope in icing sugar on the top of cupcakes which he posed on social media in August 2018. It was to raise awareness for those with spinal muscular atrophy.

Give me a hand: Prince Harry became a proud father for the first time in June 2019. Here he is sharing a tender moment with his newborn son, Archie, in a candid snap released shortly after his birth.

Looking serious: Harry is pictured leaving Canada House in London the day before announcing he would be stepping back as a senior UK royal – but wife Meghan Markle is the total opposite as she flashes a beaming smile.

In 2021, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shocked the world while laying bare their split from the royal family in a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. Harry also teamed up with Oprah for an AppleTV+ television series called The Me You Can’t See: A Path Forward which focuses on mental health. In the series, Harry details his own mental health battles and criticizes his father, Prince Charles, for ‘total neglect’.
